The Get Up Safe (GUS) system, developed by Pict Offshore, is a technology designed for safer and more efficient transfer of technicians to offshore wind turbines. It replaces traditional ladder climbs with a motion-compensated hoist, remotely controlled and tracked by lasers on the turbine. This eliminates the need for technicians to climb, reducing fatigue and increasing safety.
GUS is required for work on Orsted offshore wind facilities.
The GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Course is a foundational program designed to provide participants with the essential safety knowledge and skills required for working in the wind energy industry. The GWO BST course includes modules on First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Working at Heights, and Sea Survival. These modules equip participants with the competencies necessary to handle emergencies, mitigate risks, and maintain safety in wind turbine settings.
The GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART) is a comprehensive program designed to equip wind energy professionals with advanced rescue skills for complex emergency situations in the wind industry. This course focuses on specialized rescue operations that may occur at height, within wind turbine structures, or in confined spaces, where quick and effective response is critical for safety. Participants will learn advanced rescue techniques tailored to the unique challenges of wind turbine environments, such as rescuing from hubs, blades, nacelles, and towers.
The GWO First Aid Refresher course is designed to renew and enhance your first aid skills, ensuring you remain proficient in providing immediate care in the wind industry environment. This training reinforces your ability to manage medical emergencies, administer life-saving techniques, and maintain safety standards on-site. Key benefits include:
The GWO Slinger Signaller Training Course is designed to provide wind energy professionals with the essential skills and knowledge needed to perform slinging, signaling, and lifting operations safely and effectively in wind turbine environments. This two-day course focuses on the roles and responsibilities of slinger signallers, ensuring participants are prepared to handle lifting equipment, communicate clearly with crane operators, and adhere to safety standards during lifting operations on both onshore and offshore wind farms.
The API Qualified Rigger Training Course is designed to provide riggers, crane operators, and construction workers across various industries with the essential skills and knowledge needed to perform safe rigging practices according to API 7th Edition standards. This one-day course focusses on the roles and responsibilities of riggers, ensuring participants are prepared to handle carry out equipment inspections, calculate load weights and configure rigging setups, accordingly, communicate effectively using proper signaling methods, and implement best practices to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
